Giving A Soapbox To The Most Outrageous Of Minds

Some have criticized Piers Morgan for having the likes of Alex Jones on his recent program on CNN.

Just as LGBT orgs and bloggers criticize having anti-gay individuals as talking heads on various talk and news shows, what the critics don't see nor seem to understand is the more these "loons" have an open platform to spread their hate or in the case of Jones and others who defend the need for the right to have assault weapons as part of their cache of weaponry only shows them for the uneducated in actual facts and fear-mongers who perform for their like-minded conspiracy audience.

Until I saw Jones I had never heard of him in spite of the "presented fact" he was a well known radio host.

Someone like Jones whose radio program is only heard on 70 radio stations makes him no more well known than the "actor" credential he boasts. Having two cameo roles in two unheard of films hardly makes him a card carrying member of SAG.

Morgan, who I don't always agree with in some of his points of view as an outsider observer of US politics, has learned a thing or two since one of the shows he did on gun control several weeks ago in which he got into a screaming match with another purveyor of fact untruths.

As Morgan appears to have finally figured out is it's better to let these types have their soapbox and "free speech" because they will ultimately implode and be seen by the majority of common sense viewers for the nonsensical individuals they are.

So the next time some of these conspiracy theory talking heads show up cook up some popcorn and grab a box of Goobers and watch in comedic delight as these goobers stop by in your living room.

It's one thing to hear a rabid dog baying at the moon, quite another to see it foaming at the mouth.
