174 days since her last sign-off and enduring the battle of a rare blood disorder and a bone-marrow transplant, the marrow donated by her sister, Roberts made her triumphant return to Good Morning America.
Over the years news anchors and reporters have shared their health issues in the hopes of shedding light on the particular disease or affliction they find themselves facing.
This is the second health issue Roberts has shared with viewers the first being her battle with breast cancer.
While not a big fan of GMA, I've been a fan of Robin Roberts since her days in sports broadcasting at ESPN. I've watched this elegant woman go from covering women's college basketball to co-host of one of broadcasting's favorite morning shows.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Roberts twice, once when she was at ESPN and then not too many years ago in of all places a gas station here in CT. Never one to put on the "celebrity" hat, she is just down-to-earth regular folk you'd want to sit down with at the bar and have a beer discussing sports or now worldly and political topics.
Welcome back Robin and may your worse days be far behind you.
