Yet another journalist who covered police corruption has been murdered this time in Brazil.
The website infosur hoy reported on Wednesday that Rodrigo Neto de Faria had been gunned down by two gunmen on a motorcycle outside his residence in the city of Ipatinga this past weekend.
The 36 year-old married father of one was a radio host on Radio Vanguarda and also wrote a weekly column for the newspaper Vale do Ago.
Neto de Paria had received numerous death threats because of his reporting and commentary about police corruption in the city where he lived.
According to the website Reporters Without Borders Neto de Paria had given testimony to the Minas Gerias state assembly's human rights committee in which he accused police officers of being involved in criminal activities.
Federal authorities consider his killing an execution related to his reporting and testimony against police corruption.
